Dark Night of the Soul Symptoms
What is a Dark Night of the Soul? The dark night of the soul is the wilderness experience that will wither or mature a person. You will feel as though you are in the valley. Jesus, after baptism and being filled with the spirit, went into the wilderness and prayed and fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted by Satan. He passed and was released into his ministry. The wilderness experience is when God takes you in another direction and deals with sinful habits, strongholds of the mind, and wrong thinking contrary to God's Word. Like Jesus, we are tempted in three areas:
1) Pride issues,
2) lust of the eyes and
3) lust of the flesh.
We have to die to ourselves and take up our cross. How long does the dark night of the soul last? As long as it takes to not fight God and submit to him. God has to get things out of the way of our lives so that we can have a better relationship and be used or promoted in him. During the valley, you must learn how to overcome the flesh sermon. We have to learn how to die to ourselves daily.
