God Created you with a Purpose
Bible Verses ABout Purpose
1 Peter 2:9 says "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;"
David had a purpose
Col 1:16 "For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:"
then a promise from God
Jer. 29;11 :For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."
This scripture says you were born for a purpose. YOu were not a mistake that you were created. Regardless of how anyone may have treated you to make you feel differently.
Question - who is defining you? Your parents, mate, friends, or someone in authority over you may have said things different from God's word.
God's word is eternal, Man's word is not eternal. It does not have life unless you give it life.
You have a choice. Who is going to define You? I hope God since he is the one who created you with a purpose with significance.
You are not a mistake. You are the apple of God's eye. He has a purpose for you.
Ps. 33:11 "The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations."
For the purpose of his heart through all generations.
Guess what - the plans you have with purpose are eternal. Meaning, Before you were born he knew you. Even before the foundations of the earth, he knew you.
You were made with significance.
Many times we go on with what we think. In Prov. 20;5 "Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out." it says the purposes of a person's heart are deep waters but one who has insight draws them out.
Deep waters - in Prov. 18:4 "The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook."
So the thoughts and purposes of a man are hidden in his breast like deep waters at the bottom of the earth, so human nature penetrates the secret and by judicious questions and marks draws out the hidden thoughts.
In Ephesians 2:10 "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
Romans 6:4 "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, we also should walk in newness of life."
As God placed Jesus Christ at his right hand in heaven, so he has placed his people with him in heavenly places where the privileges of heaven are dispensed, where the air of heaven is breathed, and where the fellowship and enjoyment of heaven are known.
So we are made for God's good pleasure.
Luke 12:32 "Fear not, little flock; for it is your father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."
We are embassadors and have and he has given us authoirity and the kingdoms to rule.
He has empowered us over the enemy.
Ephesians 1:5, 9
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
9 'Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:"
First, discovering Jesus Christ is his will
Second, Accept him
Third - Know his will
We are God's good pleasure. He delights in us. And we delight to please him.
In Isaiah 46:10-11 "10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
So to know our purpose to serve, (1) we need to know God's purpose for us.
2) the purpose he created in us. How to find our purpose next week.
